Following the trauma he developed complications that were not handled correctly resulting in nerve damage. Nerve damage along with a limited range of motion in the ankle joint mean Blaine is eligible to compete as a para cyclist. Blaine joined the Great Britain Cycling Team in March 2021. Blaine is a qualified British Cycling track coach and founder of www.trackcyclingcoach.com / www.roadcyclingcoach.com
Before a career as a professional cyclist Blaine worked in the television industry, he has worked for every major broadcaster in the UK covering major sporting events such as the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and Champions League. Blaine has a passion for producing content. He continues to work alongside his athletic endeavours through www.blainehuntmedia.com and is actively looking for brands to work with that align with his growing cycling based following.
